I am Leila Zelman, a senior in my second year of the Global Studies Program at Watkinson School. I am a young Jewish-American woman who is interested in History, Architecture, and learning more about the world around me. My dream is to study the history of art and architecture in order to connect history with culture today and go on to help preserve our world's history. I love research, and I hope to one. day work in a field where I can do copious amounts of history research. I am a natural leader and a loud voice wherever I go, and I love getting into deep conversations about absolutely nothing or the deepest topic I can think of (especially ancient history!). Since I was little, I have loved the creative arts, and I am currently in the Watkinson Upper School Choir. Through choir, I have performed at countless sports games, and in May 2025/May 2026, we competed in a high school singing competition, winning first overall in 2026. Sports have always been a part of my life, including competitive dance, playing varsity soccer, and managing track and field. I am a lifelong UConn Huskies fan, and you can find me at almost every home basketball or football game.
